Newborn Sessions

Congratulations on your new little bundle of love!
As a mother of a toddler I’m going to go ahead and say what we all hate hearing as new parents: “This time is going to go by so quickly, enjoy it.” It’s true. Especially the newborn stage.

My Newborn Sessions are a little different. I believe that the best photographs are the ones where they tell a story or can bring you back to a moment in time. Though backdrops and props are cute, I do not use them. Why? The most amazing photographs I have to look back on are the ones where it was us as a family; holding our sweet girl, laughing with her, nursing her, rocking her to get her to stop crying during our session - even the diaper change! Those were moments at the time I didn’t think were important, but now when I look at our photographs I am brought instantly back into that real moment and the emotions we had when our daughter was a newborn.

You don’t need a huge space or a studio for a great Newborn Session.
I get it, Mama/Dad.. You just brought life into this world. Your place is probably littered with baby paraphernalia.. the sink is probably filled with dishes and that laundry pile is slowly consuming your home. Don’t stress about that. I come into your home days after baby arrives and we find the perfect setting for your portraits. If you have windows and a bed/couch then you’re all set. When baby needs a diaper, we pause. When baby needs to eat, we pause. We take our time - there is absolutely no rush. I’ll get some sweet photos of just your little one along with photos of you holding them with some lightly guided posing and prompting.
We can’t forget the moments in between - I’ll snap away at those too.
